Attempt to Re-open the Village Post Office
POST OFFICE IN WIMBLEDON VILLAGE
Trying to Re-open
Stephen Hammond MP is working with Mano Sounderajah, former sub-postmaster of the Wimbledon Village branch, to get this popular branch re-opened.
He said: “There is huge demand for post office services in Wimbledon Village. The branch was profitable, well-run, convenient and popular. I will work together with the local and national authorities to get Post Office Ltd to listen to our demands to re-open the Village post office.”
Stephen met with hundreds of local residents on 6 November, all of whom support the idea of getting the post office re-opened. He is in talks with local councillors, local resident groups and local businesses about how to take this forward.
Stephen continued: “I need local people’s support on this. Please help me put pressure on the Post Office by writing to Adam Crozier, the Chief Executive of Royal Mail Group,148 Old Street, London, EC1V 9HQ.”
Also, you may contact Mano or send your letter to him at his business email address so that he can pass them on. His email address is

Welcome to News & Events
This section of the web site will offer members of the Wimbledon Village Business Association an opportunity to submit information which they consider might be of general interest and which can then be loaded onto the web site.
For example:
- shops may want to publicise promotions, price reductions, the arrival of new stock;
- restaurants, cafes and bars may want to draw attention to special evenings or events
- businesses may want to let people know about upcoming events they are sponsoring or hosting
- etc
We hope that this will become a very lively forum with members of the Association sending in new data for posting on a regular basis.
This facility cannot be offered to non-members of the association but anyone who would like to become a member can do so by contacting Wendy Grant and then join us in publicising what is happening in our Village.
