During the Coronavirus pandemic, we’ve all seen the most incredible acts of kindness, bravery and compassion from amazing people within our community: NHS staff and key workers on the frontline, those providing essential services to keep us going and the everyday heroes volunteering their time to support those most in need.
To say thank you and to recognise the hard work and dedication of these extraordinary people, local publisher Time & Leisure has launched the Hero Awards.
The awards will be voted for by T&L readers and residents of SW London and Surrey. To nominate someone you know, visit the T&L website and complete the online form. Every person nominated will receive a Community Hero Award certificate. A host of amazing prizes donated by local independent businesses will be awarded to the top superheroes, based on contribution to the community and number of nominations received.
Wimbledon Village Business Association Chairman Adrian Mills is delighted to be an ambassador for the awards and help recognise the heroes of our community:
“Many of these people don’t put themselves forward for praise because as is often the case, they are unassuming members of the local community – whether it be individual shop keepers and owners, supermarket workers, staff in bakeries and delicatessens, or the individuals who have kept an eye on the vulnerable older population in the area.”
To make sure your local hero receives the recognition they deserve please click here to complete a nomination form by midday, Friday 31st July.
