Roll Up, Roll Up for the Wimbledon Guild Village Fair

An amazing medieval jousting tournament will be the centrepiece of this year’s Wimbledon Guild Village Fair.

Last year’s star attraction, The Knights of Middle England, return for a thrilling display featuring expert horsemanship, thundering hooves and clashing swords.

A firm favourite with families, foodies, shopaholics and music fans, the Wimbledon Guild Village Fair offers a fun-filled free-to-enter day for all ages while raising funds in aid of the social welfare charity.

The children’s and adventure villages are packed with attractions such as bouncy castles, a climbing wall and petting farm, and there’s a full programme of music and entertainment.

Two fantastic food villages will offer British and international cuisine and the Farmers’ Market features hand-selected products such as meats and cheeses from the best local producers around.

Four-legged friends and their owners can take part in the Waggy Wimbledon Fun Dog Show and the extensive shopping village has more than 200 stalls ranging from hand-crafted jewellery and designer clothing to colourful hats, homewares and plants.

One of London’s biggest free outdoor events, the fair attracted 35,000 people last year, and is kindly supported by many local businesses.

On the day, Wimbledon Foundation, the charity of the All England Tennis Club, will match fund the cash raised via Wimbledon Guild bucket collectors. The donations will help Wimbledon Guild to support people throughout Merton lead a better life by tackling poverty, supporting ageing and encouraging mental wellbeing.

Entry to the Wimbledon Guild Village Fair is free. The event takes place at Wimbledon Common, Southside, from 10.30am to 5pm, on Saturday, June 17.
